Let's start at the beginning!

OK..Here we are...Now let me start by telling you that I am NOT platinum, gold, or and I don't floss a crazy expensive whip....But I do make a pretty good living doing what I LOVE TO DO....making beats and producing artists! The purpose of this blog to share all of my experiences in the music business with you so you may also learn to prosper or simply make a living by doing what you love in the music biz! Let me start by telling you that getting signed is NOT the biggest deal in the world. There is lots to reveal and talk about in this Bi-weekly beats blast and blog. For starters, I have developed, produced and signed OVER 8 ACTS to major labels:

And a WHOLE LOT MORE!

You may also go to www.myspace.com/dsalasproductions to hear various productions and beats.

...Now some of these acts you may have heard of (Particularly if you are Latin) and others, maybe not, but each of their stories are either inspiring, depressing but at the very least, uniquely interesting. As we progress each week, I will outline the path to theirs and your success and or demise and will include tips on musical production and making beats. I will also include tips on how to get your music placed in major movies and TV shows and the importance of Publishing. I have placed over 140 songs with with major labels, movies or tv shows...the last movie being John Singleton's "Illegal Tender" , a movie in which I placed 9 songs in. You can view a more detailed discography at: www.beatbaker.com

Most of all this is a blog that will point you in a direction that will allow artists to understand their music, their goals and dreams and put it into a realistic, open and honest perspective. I welcome submissions of all music so I may helpfully critique it. I will post beats that you can use as well. There are new rules currently being written in this new music industry and I hope to enlighten and share with you fresh ideas and ways for you to get signed to a label or do this independently and make just as much ( or more) money in this crazy biz!
